Our Special Education Needs (SEN) Policy

At Crestbridge, we understand that some children will need more time and more learning support to stay in line with the other children. We therefore have a Special Education Needs (SEN) programme that enables us to work with children of this nature to ensure they are not left behind by their peers.

Our policy is that NO CHILD SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND!

If we/you have concerns about your child’s learning, we will arrange a meeting with our SEN Coordinator who will then carry out an in-depth assessment to determine what the learning difficulties are, and advice specific steps to address these difficulties. Sometimes, this will require extra after-school lessons with specialist teachers, while in some cases it may just require having a Special Teaching Assistant attached to the child during normal lessons.

Generally, we will determine the source of the child’s difficulties, develop a programme that works for that child and work on it. Sometimes, the assessment will require the input of an external Specialist Educational Psychologists, and we will advise if you if this is the case.

Please note however that we may charge extra fees for SEN support. SEN fees will be discussed and advised if and only when the need arises.
